I currently have pc that I'm useing as an Media PC. Now I control it currently through Remote Desktop Connections. the only thing I noticed is that I have to log into the pc first before I can use the Remote Desktop function. I believe it is because windows doesn't go get an IP until the user logs in. Is there a way to have windows get an IP addy on start up

Can't you just type the computers name in instead of an ip? That problem is kinda wierd, all the computers that i've built just to serve stuff with remote desktop have always worked.

eh...specify a static ip out of the range that your router will assign.

I've used several programs better than remote desktop...but still, I use RDP because it's built in.

Maybe it's my stupidity, but i could never get it to work correctly from home.
I used to use PC Anywhere, but since working for Wendys, we use Remote Admin, and it just seems so much easier and paster than PC Anywhere.
