has anyone seen the new JET performance products Power Control Unit? I saw it in the Jegs catalog.
they list it for the 2.5 Mystique. After going to The Jet website I could nt find the product. But they have a list of products under ECU upgrades and the 2.5 contour is there. After calling them(JET) it will work on All Duratec ( except SVT ) The unit remaps fuel curves and ignition timing.
Except it does nothing for the Auto tranny. I had them fax me the instructions. Its got a wiring harness that plugs into the Throttle Postioning Sensor and Mass Airflow Meter. The Unit can be used with ANY aftermarket airflow meter or throttle body? Go take a look and tell me what you think. Jegs wants $199 for them. IS there already something out there like this?
It sounds jus like I "CHIP" except you do not get the auto tranny stuff. And I doubt it will remove the rev limiter. The website says you will get 12-13 HP. The Tech I talked with said more like 9-11 Hp at the wheels. Which really means......5HP peak hp at the wheels. I wouldn't mind trying it , but I have an Auto tranny. And would like firmer shifting. But I don't really care about the rev limiter.

Previous Jet products, IIRC, were only for WOT, and therefore inferior to Superchips/Diablo.

Is this a new product?

Let me put it this way. I wouldn't want to be the guinea pig, when for a few bucks more, you can have a proven chip that does everything you want.

that was kinda my thoughts as well.
The Tech said it worked thrugh out the entire powerband. But I have heard alot of bad info about JET also.
