OP deftoned989 Veteran CEG\'er D Joined: Mar 2003 Posts: 681 San Diego, CA	I have been liquidating a lot of smart phones for a company and have been listing the buy it now price at $285 after selling a couple of phones without a buy it now price. However, the 2 that have sold with "buy it now" have been bought by 2 different NEW users that registered the same day as the purchase (with no feedback). Big surprise, neither has sent payment or responded to my messages. Is there some sort of scam (not really a scam, JUST REALLY ANNOYING) I don't know about or do I just have crappy luck? Anyone else have similar experience(s)? 99 Silver CSVT

Lots of sellers from over seas (asia) have a rating of 10 and the stuff they sell are nothing. Then they sell a Sony Bravia for 400 bucks. I think its a scam especially when it goes overseas and you cannot deal with the same laws as here. I would watch out for items like that. If its to good to be true then it probably is when your dealing with ebay. 3L process done

When you file an eBay Dispute to try to get payment, then the buyer will pay using pay pal. The buyer will either claim they did not receive the item or the item was not as described. The buyer will file a Pay pal dispute and claim to freeze your account. A Pay Pal claim will take 30 days to investigate and Pay Pal will allow money into the account but you can't withdraw any money. The buyer will get to keep the eBay item without paying because Pay pal knows the buyer will do a Credit Card chargeback. PayPal is no better or safer than Western Union.
