I have a 96SE 2.5L (ECM Code XXY7)
I went with the SuperChip. It gave a noticeable difference in the mid to upper RPMs, as well as removed the speedlimiter (which was my main reason for getting it.) From everything that's been said in the past, the Diablo doesn't guarantee removal of the speedlimiter.

Best bet for reference, search the forums for Superchip AND Diablo. You'll come up with plenty of reading...

I love my Contour to death, but my 'vette is still my #1 baby.

If u get custom programmed Diablo $350 I bet it will remove the limiters if you tell them to.

The computer is located in the passenger compartment, on the passenger side, behind the glove box.
There is a white clip held onto the computer by a single not.
The computer code is located on behind the white plastic clip.
somebody posted a picture not too long ago.

Among those who have really eyeballed both, it sounds like most lean toward the Diablo.

There's apparently another chip now: Kenne Bell. This one comes with a switch so you can choose between two different programs, someone said. I hope someone finds out more about it. And there's another chip called Jet something. But I'm not sure if these are available for duratec.

I bought a Superchip and dynoed it in my 98 SVT and LOST 4 HP. I sent it back, they reprogrammed it and it dynoed about the same as stock, maybe 2hp more. I was pretty unhappy. they told me that it must be a problem with the dyno or my car. I didn't even want to argue. I just tossed it.
