Well I'm do for a oil change in about 100 miles and I just bought the new mobil 1 with supersyn. Iv'e been running regular Mobil 1 tri- synthetic and I love it, the question I have is for anybody who has already used the New Supersyn formula and how they like it. Did they notice a difference. Also this wedensday Aussie is supposed to clean my UIM, LIM, and my throttle body and Iv'e heard you should change your oil after doing this, and i'm wondering if I should change it now so as not to go over or if I should wait and go over a few hundred miles. Any input will be helpful.

Go over the 100 miles. Sythetic is good for at least 5000 miles they say. I dont go 5k but you can. Aussies house is like FOREVER away.

I just did an oil change with the SuperSyn yesterday. Looks slightly darker than the old stuff, but that may have just been my bad memory. Unless I hear about issues, I'll probably keep using it.

The only thing I noticed about the SuperSyn was that there seemed to be a little brown fall out at the bottom of the 5 qt jug. Never thought I had to shake oil before use. I guess it's the wear additive. Not a lot down there, so I don't really care. Otherwise it seems the same so far. We'll see what gas milage says but I'm fine with it. All it is is Tri-Synthetic with a new additive AFAIK.

Cleaning the intake can be a bit messy and some gunk and dirt will end up in your oil. Better to wait until after the work is done to change the oil. A few hundred extra miles isn't going to make a siginificant difference to the oil or engine. (A nice clean intake should be well worth the wait )

Thanks for all of your imput. I think I will wait, makes more sense. Plus my oil is not that dirty, and I just added a quart because for some reason it was below max. No oil leak though, at least that I can see.

Well, keep in mind that this jug probably sat for weeks without really moving (it was priced cheaper per qt than a single qt or a case of 6 qts). The oil in my engine doesn't sit for that long. Also, it wasn't like a 1/4" of sludge or anything; just a little brown "stain" at the bottom of the jug. Nothing that concerned me really.
