I just recently got a 96 Buick Riviera from the fam. Before a week ago it started up flawlessly when I turned the key, now there is a delay, I have to hold the key for a second or two more. What could the problem be?

(more info) it is a series II 3800 s/c 130,000miles

Scan for CEL codes and post. Battery (or wiring), spark plugs (wires), starter, coil, bad gas, fuel filter, pump, .....

There are no codes, I just had it in a week or two ago and there are none anymore. I was going to check plugs and wires. Gas is fine, I have to put premium in it and its from a couple different stations. how much is a fuel filter parts and or labor, ballpark figure?

Check you battery terminals for corrosion. Fuel fitlers are $8-12 and pretty easy to change. Plugs, wires and serpentine belt are probaby due for a change too. That was the first thinkg I did to my 99 Ranger when I bought it, and knock on wood, no problems so far!
