I am going to replace the hard drive in a Gateway solo 5300. The current hard drive failed... I checked on newegg and found an el cheap-o Western Digital 40 gig for $52

Western Digital Scorpio WD400VE 40GB 5400 RPM ATA-6 Notebook Hard Drive - OEM

Will it work in that laptop? Since the laptop uses UDMA and the new hard drive is ATA-6 I dont know if they are backwards compatible... I know it is for older desktops (in most applications) but laptops I dont know... Here is the link to the tech specs on the laptop...

It should work fine, though it looks like there is a 32GB limitation on disk size for that model.
