OP AliasJerk�?� Addicted CEG\'er A Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 5,143 Ypsilanti, Mi	I am going to replace the hard drive in a Gateway solo 5300. The current hard drive failed... I checked on newegg and found an el cheap-o Western Digital 40 gig for $52 Western Digital Scorpio WD400VE 40GB 5400 RPM ATA-6 Notebook Hard Drive - OEM Will it work in that laptop? Since the laptop uses UDMA and the new hard drive is ATA-6 I dont know if they are backwards compatible... I know it is for older desktops (in most applications) but laptops I dont know...
