I am skeptical its the clutch I think I am going for a flywheel that wasn't stepped right. The moment of truth will be in a couple of hours. I took measurements on three diffrent clutch and the ram actually has a thicker clutch disk. Other qualitis were the same like the same manufacture of the pressure plate made by LUC. Went over the whole thing with a caliper all having same measurements or better qualites like a thicker clutch plate. One mesurment that we over looked is the edge stepping on the flywheel. The fidanza was a little deeper we thought it would not make a diffrerence bud today we are putting back in the stock turned and grinded one. All in all Someone is going to pay or go to court. Today will eliminate all varibles if it still slips we will know its the clutch. By far this is the biggest nightmare of my automotive life. Current debt is up to 3500 dollars. It all started with a Drag race. eek

maybe off topic but what is involved in changing the clutch? I *might* have to replace mine soon...can you just swap out the clutch or do you need a new flywheel/etc.? I ask not because I don't want to buy all the correct parts, but because I don't trust ford to get a replacement SVT flywheel, which is (duh) lighter than a stock contours.

Update on the clutch Crisis: Like black coog said it was a tolerence issue with the flywheel and the clutch. The stepping on the fidanza flywheel is a little off causing the clutch plate not be able to be pushed to full force. To prove my point I first had a ram HD setup in my car everthing new from the the flywheel to the clutch kit. Babyed it for 600 miles and then took a hard down shift and slipped. I knew something wasn't right so I called ram and they sent an upgraded clutch disk from the already kevelar disc. It was the mettalic setup that is capable of running slicks just to tell you how heavy duty it is. Put that in it also slipped. I ordered a stock replacment from ford and measured everything with a caliper. Everything was the same only diffrence was the ram clutch disk was thicker which was better. I had three clutchs laying out on the table looked at the pressure plates and all three were made by LUC. Finally I had the stock flywheel turned and grinded the proper way. Put that back in the car with the metallic setup and I am a very happy customer. I put it through hell last night and no way will it slip. So the whole time it has been the flywheel. The whole time I had the flywheel in my car I don't think it was worth 400 dollars just my 2 cents. I'm sure the flywheel will work with other setups like jiakos recent setup with centerforce. This is good advice to know before you go off buying this and that and find out that it doesn't work. Just wish it wasn't at my expense.
