I love it... they've done what I've always dreamed to the Vette.. no more ridiculous overhanging proportions, better fit and finish, better styling, non-flip up lights... that thing is gorgeous.. and mean, yet still a decently economical car for what it is!
Why do people have to goof on the Ford GT, though? That was designed years ago to be a limited run supercar, not dominate everything ever to be manufactured by another car company for the rest of eternity. It served it's purpose and then some.
If Ford wanted to they could slap the Vettes around silly with the GT (and if you don't think so you're kidding yourself), so I don't know what all the hate is about toward the GT. It's obviously more of a race car platform than the Vette when it comes down to it, so why call it a POS when it is a superior machine, just with power output that's now out of date.

i'd take a ZO6 over almost any car on the market (within price range) -- Vette's drive extremely nice (ex-girlfriends father used to have one and let me take it out every now and then--) -- I never used to like them, but after driving one it definetly swayed my opinion

Is he just gonna use those tires for autox? He shouldda got the a6 compound if so. I imagine he can afford some real track days though, and the r6 will be better suited to that.
In any case, nice car.

he said he was having trouble finding the right rubber but he also intends on using it on street here and there..Im sure the Z06 guys recommended it to him..and yes he can afford anything, the car was paid for by cash

I would think so it's quieter around the city, but Goonz says it's loud

They open up at a certain RPM IIRC and from what I have heard the ZO6 guys have found a way to open them manualy now with a switch of some sort.
Loud is a matter of opinion...the sound is incredible to say the least.
Awesome job Goonz...that thing looks like it's dripping wet, absolutely beautiful
