My starter went out this morning and so I replaced it and all was good at first. Then after driving it for about 5 minutes my speedometer dropped to zero and hasn't worked since. I know I had to twist and turn the starter to get it out and past the throttle bracket near the throttle body, but I didn't think I hit any of the wires or cables enough to mess them up.
Do you guys think this was just a coinicidence that my speedometer stoped working right after I changed my starter, or could they be related? The funny thing is that it did work for the first few minutes of driving. Is any part of the speedometer cable even in that area?
I am going to check my fuses...
Any ideas or opinions are greatly apprecitated.
Thanks!
Jeff

I'm sorry... I thought I mentioned that this was on my 98 SVT and not my 96 SE. Anyways, does anyone know which fuse or fuses to check? Is it possible that I messed this up in the starter replacement!?!?
Thanks,
Jeff

Then it must be possible that I jiggled something loose. Thanks for your help!
I will give a report with the problem when I figure it out... or shall is say if I figure it out!

yes, it has two wires running to it and I beleieve there is a connecter near by, you can get to it by removing the accordian tube and reaching down to it iirc
