i have 2 hard drives in my dell i bought froma neighbor

$100.00 dollars came with an lcd screen so i figured the lcd alone was worth the $100.00 i now use it as my main rig

it came with one hard drive and dell didn't leave a place for a second hard drive so i bent some existing metal in the case and scewed the hard drive in and it works good later on a got a usb extenal hard drive

and dell what the hell is up with that does it honestly cost that much to add a space for a second hard drive if i woulda paid full price for this system (1000.00) i woulda have been more angery

what model system is it?

the 2350,2400,3000,4600,4700,B110 have caddy's that you can double up...but they usually don't some with the second one unless you specify at the time of ordering. Otherwise it's hit or miss.

Any of the bigger towers come with space for extra drives, and all the mounting hardware you'll need.

I recently invested in a 250gb external harddrive and it's made my life so much easier - especially as I can now transfer all my downloaded movies etc between home and work! And next time I buy a new PC I can easily transfer stuff across!

Where have you been? Haven't you heard of CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, or DVD-RW? Now that I have enlightened you, your problem has been solved.

yeah...putting all that much data onto disc - even dvd, isn't too practical. Especially if he needs access to it on a regular basis.

and lets not forget how recordable media deteriorates. regardless what they say now i don't trust it. i've got a bunch of discs i filed away a long time ago, come to find out they're now all coasters.

i've tried that. opening up thumbnails on a 4.7 gig dvd takes forever... even with 1mb of ram.
