yez (for sake of the pr0n, people! Help this man!)
You can add a HD and set it to secondary. I think HD's come with installaton procedures now It won't effect the currnet one or the OS.

dude, i've got a 300gb drive that's only got about 30-40gb free space left...heh
Anyway, to answer your question - of course you can add another drive to the computer. If it's your primary drive (with windows on it) you're looking to expand, you can get a bigger drive and use a program like ghost to clone the contents to the new drive.
If you're just looking for a seperate storage drive you can get another internal drive...or if your computer has usb 2.0, or firewire you can get external units pretty cheap. Or, get your own drive and a universal external caddy and use that (might be able to save some $$$). Just dump all your data to that and you won't even have to worry if your computer crashes.

Yeah you just plug it in and set the jumpers to right position and then partition it. Very easy and should come with instructions.

i'm running 3 hard drives right now, i have over 600gb worth of...stuff. adding hard drives is easy but if you want to take the easy way out, USB 2.0 external hard drives are getting cheaper and are very easy to use and the transfer rate isn't that bad at all.

You can have several drives!!! I have 3 in my box, one is using a SATA PCI card adapter. That sucker is fast, the other 2 are IDE. I think I have 440gb total internal and a 220gb external.
You can always install a drive and transfer files over to the new one. I try to dedicate a drive for programs and others for docs. I dont know if its a really good idea or not, but it makes sense in my head.
