Hello, I have a 1997 Contour 2.0L and the transmission was slipping in second gear. The transmission guy gave me a price of $950 to remove / install and to overhaul it. He said that the 2-3 band was cracked and there were several bushings and bearings bad. The price also includes a new solenoid pack and updated mods to the valve body. He is also replacing all the clutches along with the steels. The price breakdown is $400 for the remove and install, $300 for the overhaul and $250 for the parts. I'm wondering if this is a good price?

Also he is giving me all the old parts that were changed.

Thanks for the info. Does anybody know what is the average price for an overhaul?

Thanks
