Yesterday my car wouldn't start after running fine all of the day before. Car turns over, has fuel, no blown fuses and the relays are functioning fine, but it has no spark. I purchased a new coil pack and installed it, car started up and ran fine. I drove it 3hrs home without any problem.
This morning I go outside to go to work, car doesn't start... no spark.
It kinda sounds like the CPS may be bad, but the fact it started after I replaced the coil pack has me 2nd guessing it a bit.
Any thoughts.

Sounds like that in the time that you where replacing the coil whatever was to bad cooled down and made contact with its self again.
When you crank does the RPM's on the tach display?

Well the car had sat overnight so it was cool when I replaced the coil pack. The only thing that is a constant is that the car sat overnight and both nights were fairly damp. I'm wondering if maybe the Crank or cam sensor may be allowing moisture in causing it not to fire and once it dries out it will fire.
As for the rpms, no the needle doesn't move. IIRC, the needle won't move without the engine actually firing so this isn't a surprise.

Scan for CEL codes. In addition, check wiring to CPS.

no codes. Wiring & connector to the CPS appears to be in good condition.

I have the same problem. If the CPS was bad, wouldn't there be a code thrown? I'll see if I can test mine in the next few nights. Mark, you have a PM.

Mark, you said you checked the wiring to the crank position sensor, but did you physically unplug it and check the pins in the harness. The CPS sits so close to heat during engine operation that you could have lost some of the solder in the harness. If you haven't wiggled the wires in the harness, give it a try. You may find too much play in the connection. And double check that you havent lost a pin off theCPS itself. Also double check your ground strap for the coil. I'd be willing to bet its the damn CPS though.
Are you checking the CAM POS. Sensor or the Crank Pos. Sensor????

I checked both.
it ended up being the Crank Position Sensor. I still find it odd though that it started right up after I swapped the coil pack. hopefully it will start right up tomorrow morning and not pull this crap again.
