Hey bud. Like the other guys said, the SHO won't work in the contour. But there is a 3L conversion available for our cars. I don't know a whole lot about it but if you go back to the main forum screen there is a 3L section. They'll tell ya everything you need to know. HTH

has anyone tried it

yeah....SHO's break too.....but it's usually the stock Ford components....not the engines themselves......don't get me wrong....i love contours....that's why i'm here I just think a SHO 3.0l would be better than a Duratec 3.0l

thought the sho was a 3.4 v8? and its stuffed under my dads sho, things are pretty cramped as it is in the tour engine bay.

The '96+ SHOs are the 3.4L V8 ATX only combination. The first and second gen SHOs are the Yamaha MTX 3L and ATX 3.2L V6 offerings.

The SHO engines share nothing with our drivetrains. Sure, you could probably make one fit, but at the cost of custom engine and tranny mounts, custom wiring harness, half shafts, clutch assembly... That's even if the engine bay is large enough for the larger Yamaha engine. You could make a 3 liter Duratec scream a lot louder for a lot less money and effort than you'd go through trying to make the SHO engine fit. wink
