How do i get at the 18mm bold holing the top shock mounts in the rear of my 98 svt contour

if u mean the one that holds the mount to the strut assembly, then u have to remove the whole assembly to reach that top nut. pretty positive its not an oncar thing.

so i gotta take off the plastic peice that surrounds that nut to get the nut off, cuz a short socket is too short because of the adjuster for the koni shocks someone put in it and a long one wont fit under the rear deck and i needa tighten it because it squeaks a lot

even if u where able to get a socket on the bolt it you still wouldnt be able to tighten because it would keep turning. you need an allen wrench to tighten strut mount also
