I know that the dual voice coil subs have been around for years now. I have always just stuck with a pair of single voice coil subs in an 8 ohm, briged to run them in mono at a 4 ohm load.
What are the advantages to having a dual voice coil? Is the sound quality better, or just more flexability?

Mkaes it so you can run lower ohm loads with fewer speakers. Gotta love the advent of the 1 ohm stable amplifier that will push 1000+ watts RMS to 2 dvc speakers

Ya, no real Difference. just on how you wire em, and take into consideration what ohm you want your amp to see.
