After getting all the parts setup and installed in my 00 CSVT, the car hates them. They consist of; Pro-M 75mm MAF, K&N Cone filter, Mirko adapter, CTA (BAT) inakte pipe, new throttle body (Stock 60mm SVT), and HoseTechniques hoses. The car doesn't like to idle smoothly, and won't start up as quickly and smoothly when the starter turns it over. On my day off I took the car down to the mall, about 12 miles away each way. A quarter way back on the return the CEL came on and stayed on the whole way home. I reset the comp again after that by keeping the - batt terminal off for the evening to get the CEL to go out. It went out but I'm sure it'll come back. Also, I took the hood liner out when I did all the mods, and on the intake pipe, it doesn't look like the air temp sensor sits far enough in the pipe to take accurate readings. Help me out guys. I treat this car better than a new born, but it keeps acting up. (Current mileage is 3,400; three thousand four hundred, everyone thinks I screw up when I put it in numbers. But yes, only 3,400...)

Take off the Pro-M and try again.

The Pro-M MAF has been known to be miscalibrated.

Check for Vacuum leaks.

Did you forget to plug in the MAF connector?

Otherwise I would say there is something wrong with the MAF calibration. Did you buy it from someone used?

The MAF plug is and has been in place the whole time. No doubt about that. And I'm quite sure there are no vacuum leaks but I will tighten everthing again and see what I get. I also checked the calibration... It's calibrated to the 2000 CSVT (theres a start), and for the 19 injectors, and a concial filter. All correct, unless Ford changed the injectors for 2000. What do you guys think?

Does anyone think it would be worth it to buy Pro-M's remote optimizer to play around with? Any of you guys have any experience with it or think I could solve the intake problems with it?

In previous testing with MAFS, Pro-M, modified stock ones, etc, I have found that when we used modified stock MAF's we would get this condition, bad idle, hard starting. First thing I would suggest is to put the MAF screen back in. Since you have the Mirko adapter, the screen will fit. I am thinking that the Pro-M may be leaning out the motor and causing a CEL for a lean condition. If your idle continues to be rough, with the MAF screen installed, it is more likely, as already mentioned, a calibration issue with the MAF. Swap back to the stock MAF and see what happens, to eliminate this possibility.

AS far as the IAT, as long as it is connected, that shouldn't give a CEL but ensure that the sensor end is at least protruding into the pipe. I made sure of this before the BAT pipe was installed on my SVT.

I took some time today and put the MAF screen back in to see the result... The engine still idles like it can't make up its mind, and it started hard the second and third time I tried it after it warmed up. Problem still exsists... If I were to buy the Apexi S-AFC and have it calibrated could I solve my problem that way? Or just end up causing more?

Typically, if it is a problem with the MAF, then Pro-M will recalibrate it at no cost, that's part of the their warranty, IIRC. Have you tried installing the stock MAF to see if the problem goes away? I would say to solve this issue first before adding the Apexi.

Agreed with Chris, don't throw any more parts at it, you gotta find the cause by tracing back.

Good luck, and you have to have the lowest mileage SVT on earth! eek
