It was a long process (for me), but its done! However, there are numerous leaks that need to be fixed. One is at the front bank and two are where the manifold pipes go into the cat. Gonna go back to the muffler shop tomorrow to have them replace the two clamps with welds. Is there a sealant that can be applied to the front bank around the ball/socket joint to stop the leak? Just curious, why would it leak (at the manifold to cat part) against the direction the exhaust is flowing and spray forward? Wouldnt the gas velocity force negate the chances of leaks?

W3rd! The 650 degree RTV is about half of the temp zone needed for exhaust gases on high RPM engines like these! eek

Any techniques to applying the sealant so it doesn't enter the exhaust piping? The last thing I want to do right now is disassemble this beast...again...

One more question - Does it matter how much of the manifold piping is inserted into the cat inlet? Whether its 1/2 inch or 2 inches, it shouldn't matter, right...hopefully?
