After I had the resonator removed from my car I noticed a small gain in mid range power and a noticable gain above 5500. The sound is definately more on the raspy side (but not to bad). Hell aside from the K&N filter that was the best $20 I've spend on my car. My next step is new muffs and a "true" dual exhaust.

Right! It will sound really "Ricey" when cold... Just a warning! I liked it when I had the stock exhaust.

It's not that bad, But like stated above, when it's cold, it's pretty bad. But once the exhaust warms up it's ine, just for a few mins it's like that. It's well $30 in my opinion. If your quoted any more then that, go elsewhere.

I just did it a week ago. It does sound raspy when you first start it up but like everyone else has said it sounds good when its warmed up. I'd say go for it no matter what. Its cheap, easy, and relatively quick. Just as long as u don't mind a little drone when u let off the gas and the back pressure is released. Hope this helped.

I've been deciding whether or not to do this for three years now and I finally had it done Friday, along with some 3 1/2 inch stainless steel tips. I replaced it with a Magnaflow resonator from Stazi. I have the SVT dual exhaust, also. I am VERY impressed with the sound. As soon as I start it up it let's out a much louder snarl. Nothing ricey here. Initial launches feel almost the same, but mid-range and high RPM's are greatly improved. I really didn't expect to gain any ponies, but it has to be quicker. I also have the Superchip installed for a few years now and I was able to rev to 7,000 in first gear, but then it would shift into second. NOW, it rev's to 7,500, the redline (not a good thing to do...don't do this often), but anyway, it scared the hell out of me last night when I stepped on it to test the new resonator and the needle jumped to 7,500 in first gear. Anyone else experience this? Is this normal? I mean, I know quite a bit about mods, but I can't figure why it revs high besides the fact that the exhaust flows better now. Is the stock res. THAT restrictive? eek Anyway, that's my lastest experience with my newest mod.

Little raspy/ricey for about 2 minnutes than it goes away. you wont be disapointed. about a 20-30 minnute job. If you CANNOT tolerate any rasp, you can also get a high flow resonator put in instead of just the regular straight pipe.

I always say never remove the resonator, only replace it with a high flowing bullet muffler.
I chose Dynomax Ultraflow. Magnaflow, Edelbrock, and others work also. Rasp is horrible without one.
