I woke up this morning to go to work and my 98 CSVT will start but wont idle? I have the P1131 code at present, but never had this problem before. Battery seems fine. When it starts i have to keep pumping the gas for it to stay on, when i let off it just dies. No strange knocks or other noises coming from the engine bay? Please help...

P1131 Lack of Upstream Heated Oxygen Sensor Switch - Sensor Indicates Lean - Bank No. 1.
seems that you might need a new O2 sensor but that shouldn't have anything to do with the engine idle
I would check the IAC to start

You can try cleaning the IAC, but be prepared to replace it if cleaning does not fix the lack of idle control.
The P1131 is not related to this symptom.

I called up a few auto parts stores and found AutoZone has an IAC valve for $37. So i called up Ford and they said they can order one for $110, part #9F715. I am not sure the autozone valve is correct. anybody know where to get one cheaper? i read a few posts on here saying these valves are not meant to be cleaned?

Plenty of people have cleaned IACs and used them with no issues. Clean it, let it dry thoroughly and see what happens.

I cleaned the IAC valve today with B-12 and a fine paint brush. It looked pretty dirty, but wasnt horrible. Also, cleaned MAF and TB. Put everything back together and she idles fine. Just curious, how important is it to line up the larger holes on the IAC gasket when re-installing? It has a little bit of play and when both bolts where back on i couldnt tell how centered it was. I took the car out for a test drive and it seemed just ok. I noticed a slight lag in powerband. Will it take the computer a little while to adjust? Thanks for the help...

If it is not leaking, you should be fine. If it is leaking, you will know (crappy idle again).

Yes, give it a day or two.
