My son's 96 with 60k has a transmission leak. I've had rear main seals fixed on other cars with fair to poor long term success. Anybody have any post-seal replacement luck, or am I destined to live with a spotted garage/driveway?

Welcome . Are you sure it is the seals? Or maybe just coming out of the dipstick/fill pipe or vent due to overfilling.

Can you pin point where the leak is? I assume we are talking auto trans here?
I had two leaks. One was the vent on top of the oil pan. The other was the servo seals on the bottom.

Squarehead makes good point. The shop that fixed mine had it for a few days so that they could truly narrow down the leak. They told me that there were 3 places it could be coming from, but wanted to make sure before doing any work.

Mine started to spot the driveway with minor leaks here and there, and came to find out the gasket simply rotted due to age. I thought it was major at first because my tranny's housing was soaked down- but the gasket was all the issue was.
