Do I need to relieve the pressure to replace the fuel filter?

If so where is the pressure valve at.I know its on the fuel rail but I dont even see the fuel rail.

Is it hard to get access to.

Yes, by removing fuel pump fuse and cranking a few times, then remove gas cap before removing the fuel filter. Don't have to mess with the fuel pressure valve.

None of the technicians I know bother to relieve the fuel pressure before replacing the fuel filter. It just isn't critical. You get a bit of a spurt if there is pressure, but it isn't a lot of fuel. Another way, if it is convenient, is to just let the car sit a few hours before changing the filter and allow the pressure to die off on it's own.

If it is up on a lift, yes, you can get out of the spurt easily but if you are less than 6 inches from the spurt...... gas in face and ear.
