so i've been thinking about getting something newer to replace the contour. i will be giving that to my younger cousin when he gets his license in about 6 months. went to a local mazda dealer to look at some used 6s and we looked at a couple. i told them i want a V6 (S model), it to be a 5-speed, have a sunroof, and alloys. he told me he could put me in a brand new 2006 Mazda 6 S with everything i want for $21,000. the 2003s and 2004s i was looking at were all around $17,000. this sounds like a great deal to me, but what do you think? anyone on here with a 6S? my father knows someone at the dealer and the sales manager, who took me on the test drives knows my work (a somewhat famous restaurant in our area) and said anytime i come back he will come very close to there current promotion price. the MSRP on the 6 he showed me as a little over $25,000. only choice i really need to make is do i want glacier silver, tungsten gray, or black.

Not sure if your interested, but from what I understand, a lot of dealers are having trouble getting Speed6's off their lots for a couple grand more than what they are willing to sell you the S for...

I think that sounds like a good deal. The Mazda6 Hatch is one of my favorite vehicles, but I also like the regular sedan. I've been seeing used 6s on Autotrader, though, for under $15k with good miles. Take a look. You might be surprised.

Looks like S-Plan pricing on the 6s (non-Sport model) 5-speeds is $21,248. The s-Sport is $22,076. The Bose & Moonroof package is another $1,120. Destination charges with S-Plan pricing is additional. From there, they are offering $3,000 cash back. So S-Plan on an s-Sport would be about $20,196 plus destination charges.

Great car. Love it. I'm probably about to sell mine though, as I could use the money elsewhere right now. Wanna save up for something better in the near future.

I agree with sigma. Although I have a 6i, MTX, hatchback. Very fun car to drive. The MTX helps improve the performance of the 2.3L 4 cylinder. either way you'll be happy.
