To answer your question may posts ago I had a 1JZ swapped SC300 5sp. It was everything I wanted in a car except practical for my family. I opted for a 94 GS300. I have an Aristo clip down at the shop right now for transplant.

Please educate me on the differences in M series to JZ series. I have not done much research on them as they were never my focus.

The JZ series uses 7 main caps and 12 counterweights on the crank. The 1JZ uses parallel twin ct12's and the 2JZ uses sequential ct12b's and the JDM's use ct20's. The motorset I used for my 1JZ swap came from a 91 or 92 Soarer. Not positive on that. Being that it was a Soarer it was pretty much plug and play. All of the harnesses plugged right in to the SC however I had issues with the tach and coolant temp gauge that were fixed later. I did the swap in approx 22 hours by myself. With help I could have shaved a couple of hours. I used the stock boost setting and stock exhaust on the SC and put down about 250 hp and tq. With higher boost and a free flowing exhaust 300+ rwhp is realized relatively easily on the stock turbos. Don't expect too much more than that being the turbine wheels on JDM imports are ceramic, as I'm sure you know, and can shatter going too far over 1 bar of boost. I used the stock W58 trans which is only really good to about 350 wheels before its longevity becomes questionable. I've seen guys in the 400 with them, but not too many and not for too long.

I would have preferred a R154 but fitting that in takes some real work for the SC.
