Im going to get a oil change today and i have a coupon for a free one. The oil filter and oil they provide is kendall is that good stuff? Also if the prevous owner never used a synthetic blend should I? I just want to put in the best oil and best oil filer.

If you want to put the best oil and best filter go Mobil 1 full synthetic. This iin my opinion and a lot of other peoples if the BEST oil to use. I've never heard of Kendall and i'm sure its just some off brand cheap oil. Also if I were you I would get some Rhino Ramps they sell them at most auto stores and change it yourself. I have heard some horror stories about people not putting the drain plug back in and well you get the picture. Plus there is a certain satisfaction and Zen about Changing your own oil and it only takes about a half an hour. Jus my $0.02.

One last thing. If you go synthetic you are not supposed to put that crappy regular oil back in, but after you use synthetic you won't want to go back, your car will thank you. Also I would dispose of the myth that when you use synthetic you can go 4-5,000 before changing it. I never go over 3,000, sometimes when I have nothing to do I'll even change it at 2,500. Depending on how I've been driving it.

Is it easy to change the oil on the contour SVT? I can do it fine on older cars. Also is the filter mobil one?
