1998 Contour SVT
93,000 miles.
When I drive the car hard, it blows hot air but returns when I back off the throttle and works normally.

I am guessing it is a vacuum issue, but where would I look first?

I am sure the car is not supposed to do this.

Some sort of a vacuum holding tank or leaking hose?

Gary

are you talking about when you have the car at WOT? if so it is suppose to be that way

otherwise start checking the system for the correct pressures and verify the clutch is working correctly

I'm prolly gonna sound like an idiot but what does WOT stand for. Also both my cars do this I assumed that the AC clutch disengages to give you more power when you need it is this true?
