Well it's been happing for a while and i have had no luck yet. the problem is my fuel pump will blow a fuse for no apperant reason, i put a new one in and it usely works, but yesterday i would put one in and as soon as i would start it up it would blow. i even sat in the car with a new fuse and turned the key on and off and you could here the pump run and go off but it would not blow the fuse that way "only when running, so i was getting ready to call a flatbead when i stuck a 20 amp fuse in and it started up no problem. not knowing if the wire can handle 20 amps i took out the fuse and put back in a 15 amp. and bam it works ????? it's not blowing the fuse. i know this needs to get fixed asap so any help on this one? the fuel pump is new from napa 8 months ago and the fuel filter was changed at the same time.

please help

Eric

Knowing that you have a fresh pump in it, I would suspect a wiring issue. My guess is that you have a chaffed loom that has scraped the insulation off a wire or two and sometimes shorts to ground.

I have seen a few cases though where it was the pump causing the fuse to blow so you were on the right path.

I would start back by the pump. Pull the rear seat for access and have a look.
