I'm trying to get my 3L to start, and I noticed that before I turn the key, the PATS light is NOT on like it should be. Of course, when I turn the key, it flashes like crazy and the starter doesn't engage. I can't tell if the fuel pump clicks on; I will check tomorrow. Battery terminals are clean, I think I have the grounds right, and I'm hoping I have everything plugged in.

Has anyone encountered a PATS light not flashing when the key is out and you are out of the car?

I will have to check all the fuses tomorrow as well(too dark now). Which fuses are PATS specific?

F12, F30, F34 (supplies the light), F25, F32 all go to the anti-theft/central locking module.

Thanks, Steve. I didn't check any of the fuses, though. Last night before I went to sleep(hard to fall asleep, btw), I remembered that I had plugged together the huge square electrical connector behind the airbox, but that I didn't tighten the bolt that goes through it. This morning, after I did, PATS started blinking like it should, turned the key and it lit up for a coulple of seconds, fuel pump pressurized, light turned off, and I cranked the motor. What a relief.

Now if only my battery would hold a charge, then I might be able to start it.
