I purchased what looked like a pre-98 console (brand new) and it looked identical - with one exception, it doesn't have the extra storage area above the ash tray (and hence leaves a gap at the bottom of the instrument panel. Everything else is the same, mounting holes, shift boots, e-brake boot- anyone have any idea what this console is for?

A picture would help. Isn't there an additonal piece to the center console that bolts in to mount up flush with the radio bezel?

On The Pre-98's With Manual Trans There Is A Seperate Piece That Fills In The Large Gap Under Neath The Dash Toward The Firewall Area...As For The Gap Underneath The Radio Bezel I'm Not Sure...I'm Going Through the Same Thing And I Even Have A Pre-98 Radio Bezel To Go With It And Still It Looks As If I Have Wrong Or Missing Parts Due To The Gap. I Don't Yet Have The Seperate Piece That I Mentioned Above, so I Don't Know If That Part Eliminates The Radio Bezel Gap. Let Me Know If You Narrow This Down...

easy the pre98 mystique doesn't ahve the second din location as part of the centerconsole, it is part of the dash. The rest of the console is the same as a pre98 but again the pre 98 console has the second din location and will attach right to the radio
can post pictures later tonight
also above the second dim location there is a small thin insted that goes there to fill the space, again pictures can be posted later tonight

 if you look closely there is a thin plastic filler that goes between the second din location and the radio this is everything that you need minus the shift boot  I am goign to go take more pictures now

How Does The Lower Console Attach To The Radio Bezel. I Know That There Are Two Holes Behind The Filler Piece...But There Is Nothing There To Attach The Screws To. Unless I Have The Pre-98 Bezel On...But the Mounting Holes Are Different For The Radio Bezel That I Have.????????

Nevermind...I think I Figured It Out By Looking At Your Pics. The Two Tabs That Stick Up On The Console "Slot" Into Two Holes Under The Dash And I Would Assume You Put Some Sort Of Screw Or Push Tab In Through The Back..?? Am I Correct?

Thanks BrApple...That Helps Me Out A Lot...Its Amazing How Confused This Got Me! I Have Three Pre-98 Centers And An SVT Center (Orig) But They Were All In Some Sort Of Disarray. This Will Help Me Get My Parts In Order...You Are A Gentleman And A Scholar.
