I actually wasn't as fond of the Mazdaspeed6. It drives like a larger car and is more separated from the driver.

I test drove the Mazda 6 also and I like the looks of it over the Jetta. I like the Jetta's acceleration more and I like the interior better also. I haven't driven the Mazdaspeed6 but probably won't since i'm looking for a car that's more fuel efficient. Maybe i'll check out the 9-2x.

Much rather have a TSX. Better resale (especialy the automatic), better reliability, and better fuel economy, despite what VW claims. Get into the boost and those city numbers will be a dream.

Can somebody please explain to me the appeal of the VW interiors? I don't see any ambience or feel to justify the high pricetags and uppity image.

Every newer VW I've been in had crappy interiors. The new beetles really suck and the quality is crap. They're pretty much one of the most useless cars IMHO that you can buy right now.

The MKIV Golf and Jetta had much nicer interiors than anything in their class, the plastics, tactile feel of the switches etc. I also liked how they didn't use any of the hideous metal-looking plastic that is so popular these days.
