I need 5 people to join me in a purchase of some cams for our beloved Duratec. The cost is $800 for a set and there are two grinds avalible, one for N/A engines and one for turbo engines.
Even if you don't have a turbo but are planning on doing one, the turbo cams would be an inprovement from the SVT cam.
The N/A cam will be copy of the cam that came out of my 280hp 3L.
No real rush, should be done by June. I need 5 more people or who knows when something this may show up again.

David, would this be a cam kit(valve springs, retainers etc.),or would it be just the cams? Sounds very interesting, and tempting, just wanna know complete info. $800 for full cam swap, or $800 plus miscellaneous?

Very intrested have the same questions as above. Will these cams require major timing and tuning changes?

It would be just the cams, it's not a radical grind that you would need to change out the stock equipment. It works with the stock followers and the rest of the stock valve train.
No tuning is nesscisary to get them to work with the stock ECU. Since the cams move the power band a little higher in the RPMs, I would reconmend a chip for the non-svt ECU cars and raise the limiter.

Interesting! Some questions: - How much for an install on these? - Any warranty? - Install and go? - What kind of gains on NA? (I plan on staying all motor)
Thanks!

Plug n play my friend, I've been asking this shop for ever and they finally gave in and said they could do me a set.
The turbo cam has more emphasis on on lift and less on overlap. Turbo cam isn't a good name for it cause it would acutally be a good street cam, but its better suited for a turbo than the other grind.
Other grind has more of an emphasis on duration, since I put together my 3L engine with this cam. I don't know what acutal gains it has by itself, but if I were to compare it to Vadims 3L I would say it made about 10hp/8tq
- Regrinds
- Labour would acutally involve removing the top and front engine cover.

Aren't the lifter, springs, etc... wear item that wear with the cams? Should they all be replaced if the cams are regrinded? Would the NA cams work well with turbo application?
