Hi,
Has anoyone here been successful in removing a bank 1 precat from a 96 V6 contour? Do you need to remove the radiator hose(s)?

According to the service procedure, removal of any radiator lines/hoses is not required.
Just so it is certain that we're discussing the same thing, Bank 1 is the firewall side, AKA the RIHGT HAND (RH) side of the engine.

�µ 6. Loosen the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve and remove the nut to the exhaust manifold. l Loosen the EGR valve. l Remove the nut.
�µ 7. Note: Remove the nuts in the sequence shown.
Note: Remove and discard the gasket. Remove the right-hand exhaust manifold.
Installation
�µ 1. Note: Use a new exhaust manifold gasket.
Note: Tighten the nuts in the sequence shown. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
�µ Refer to corresponding illustration.

Thanks for your reply. My bad though. I was referring to the precat in the radiator side. this should be Bank 2 then...
