does anyone know if the dash bezel from a post98 is the same size and has the same spots to screw it in as the pre 98. i know that i would have to rewire the defroster stwich and clock but that should be easy. i found a good condition one in a junkyard and want to put it in.
thanks

It should be plug-and-play. Just make sure all the switches you need are present in the junkyard bezel. AFAIK, the newer switches should be plug-and-play as well, but I could be mistaken on this point. If you're really worried that the switches won't swap, then make sure you keep the connectors attached to the junkyard bezel and cut the switches from the wiring harness. That way if you need to cut and splice, you'll have the factory harness connectors.

speaking of dash from pre 98 to 98... anyone know where i can pick up a pre 98 console besides from a CEGEr or a junkyard?
Also can I get the paint from Bill Jenkins to match my midnight blue?

The design of the bezel that you can see facing you did change from '97 to '98. However, the opening that it fits in and all the connecting points should be the same. The dash itself never changed, just the stuff that got screwed on to it. The most noticeable change on the bezel was the redesigned clock and AC vents.
As far as the console, junk yard is your best (and cheapest) bet. You might be able to use a vinyl dye to color it. Check your autoparts store to see if they have a color that's close to midnight blue.

The one I found is all ready a colour match. It is out of a 98 GL and it still has the clock in it... but some one already took the revised power window switch that I wanted to get too. Im gunna go there Monday to pick it up

FYI, the raised window switches in the 98 use a different plug then the 95-97 and 98.5-00. While working on my car (98) and my friends (98.5) at the same time, I found this out.
Cut the wire harness from the 98 (when you find one) if you wish to install that switch into your car.
