May seem like a silly question but has anyone tried to run a muffler int he resonator postion and then have a 90 degree facing down (but not haning to low) right in the middle of the car? I'm just thinking that this would give max flow cause there would be little bends.

The drawbacks I can think if is maybe carbon monoxide leaking into the car, arent they sealed enough? Probably too loud or a vibration under the floor board, and a funny looking back end for a CSVT but not for my Roush cougar smile

Can anyone clue me in on some basic principles of exhaust sound after it leaves the pipe? Does the sound amplify travling through a pipe? etc. Thanks guys!

Illegal. Exhaust fumes will get ya.

FWIW, I have $125 worth of 2.5" madrel pipe coming from JCWhitney, I wanted to save that and do the down pipe at the resonator, no go.

I know this is trivial but, when street rods do that and they drive over a dirt road, or any dirt, it blows it all over thier car. Also it is very loud in the car.

I thought about doing something similar and having the pipe exit in front of the driver side rear tire. I talked to one of borla's application engineers and he said i would probably loose all kinds of torque.

A note on the "sound" thing. The volume level of the exhaust is direclty related to the temperature of the existing gas. So the hotter the gas exiting the pipe the louder it will be as hot gas contains more energy than cold gas.
