For a 95 SE, I have heard that the most hp you can get out of the car before you max the injectors is like 205hp. Would it be bad to get up to that much hp and max out the injectors? And if it is, how bad would it be?

Well, from what I know about my car, I have alot less than 205hp and my injectors are maxed out at WOT. The bad side of maxing out the injectors??? when you drive with the injectors maxed out, that means you will be running lean, which means that your engine will be a hurtin. -Nick

I think that you are not maxing out your injectors, but you are running lean because you do not have any timing increase like chip, S-AFC, or MAF optimizer. Don't you think that running at max for the injectors would just make the life of the injectors shorter and thats it?

You are right Blacksport but there is more to it than that. What makes you think the injectors are maxed out? What evidence do you have to support that?

The only evidence I have is that HoosierContour recently posted about his problems with running lean, turned into problems of running rich when he put in the 19# injectors into his car. He informed me that his OBD2 showed he was maxing out I believe. We have the exact same mods done to our cars... -Nick

When I maxed out my injectors, all was fine with the A/F below 6000 RPM. I could richen and lean as I needed to (with the S-AFC on the dyno). No matter what we did above 6000 RPM, the A/F ratio dropped off. Didn't run lean throughout the band, just up top where maximum fuel flow is required. No codes or anything like that, because where the injectors weren't up to snuff was way out of closed loop operation, and they were sufficient for fuel needs during closed loop.

When does our car come out of closed look operations? Is the only wayt to truely know if I am maxing out my injectors to do a full dyno run? Are there any opinions of whether I have maxed mine out, seeing the mods I have, and the fact that I have the stock 16#'ers? thanks... -Nick

My KKM was doing funky things above 6k rpms also. I did several 4th gear 2k-6.8k runs. I was never satisfied with the airflow. Only about 16.5-17.0 lbs/minute, with both 16 lb injectors and 19 lb injectors. Lean and Rich, only so much the KKM could do for me.
So out with the KKM and in with the Stock SE box. I now can see 19-19.5 lbs/minute. I hope to see more with a K&N. Not much more I think, but breaking 20lbs/min. in an SE would make my day. UPS tracking says Monday for delivery from Summit. BAT MAF Adaptor is another story :rolleyes:
