I'm new here but have learned much from the forum discussions....
However I recently made a slow right hand turn (2.5k rpms in second gear) and suddenly the motor ran rough and almost stalled, oil and CEL came on and I immediately shut the motor off. I checked the oil and it was full waited for the car to cool and checked it again 15 min later, then started it and it was fine.
It is a 2000 SVT with 187k on the chassis and less than 60k on the motor. I recently bought the car and have a K&N intake & B&M shifter as the only mods. I run 6.5 quarts of 5w30 Mobil1 and doesn't consume any over a 4000 oil change interval. I am wondering why this happened and what to do to prevent it in the future?

At the point of stalling, most of the warning indicator lights will come on. Scan for the CEL code(s) and post. This could be a fluke occurrence but without the codes, it would be hard to tell.

I checked today at autozone and there are no codes and CEL is off after the incident...running great now....took it through the paces and it feels normal...

only the oil light and the CEL came on and the car was still running....the car felt like the stalling was caused by some increased friction in the motor followed by immediate oil light which IMHO felt like it was starved of oil for like 5 seconds...but i had 6.5 quarts of good syn oil in it and wasn't driving even remotely hard...any thoughts? maybe freaky coincidence??

Yes, maybe freak occurence. Once again, when the engine is almost to the point of stalling, the instrument panel lights can sometimes start to come on.
