okay, iam getting a custom exhaust put together, i will get magnaflow mufflers for res and muffler positon, the exhaust will mimic the SE exhaust, single out the rear but be 2.25, i have a SVT exhaust that has no RES on it, so iam going to us the part of the SVT that does all the Bending around the rear of car, at the end of the exhaust where is splits into the 2" pipe for quasi dual iam going to cut that off and put a 90deg bend straight pipe and another 90deg bend to make the rear exit area etc...

all that seems pretty easy, problem is the part in front of the RES position muffler, i notice there is a kink or something in the stock SE exhaust in front of the RES so it lines up with ypipe, when i take this to the muffler shop iam sure they would probably just crush bend etc to do that, anyone here have a good way of doing this??? i wanna keep it the best i can without any goofy bottlenecks... any idea would be greatly appreciated...

Keep the pipe as straight as possible between the cat and the res. I recently took that kink out when I replaced my glasspack res with a magnaflow and was surprised at the improvement. I know the magnaflow is quieter, but it's str8 through like the glasspack. That kink was really restrictive!

The gain you noticed was probably from losing the POS glasspack and going to the Magnaflow - not cos of the straighter pipe.
