So this came with my trubendz system, and apparently the mechanic decided it didnt belong. (he rigged it with his own equally wide pipe, just a little longer)
also..the sliding bracket on it was reasonably smaller than the one coming off the y-pipe and wouldnt have bolted to that or the cat.

My guess was it was to eliminate the cat, but then i dont think there would be enough piping to stretch to the rear of the car,(the pipe he added was probably 2 feet, this is about 1)and it wouldnt have bolted up anyway.

If this belongs in the duratec performance area im sorry. feel free to delete or move it.\

the part...

thanks in advance.

is a test pipe what eliminates the cat? if so it wouldnt have been any use to me either way, but it also would have seemingly been the wrong part, since it couldnt have bolted up. (he let me get under there and look at it myself)
thanks for the quick response

i concur doctor

it sounds like you may have swapped out the headers? or just Y pipe? and possibly went from a 2 bolt set-up to a 3 bolt set-up which would require the addition of a flex pipe, which is almost a foot long. if you dont have one, and you have a 3 bolt set-up, you really need to get one.

I'm 90% sure that it connects your exhaust from the "cat-back". The only thing thats a 2 bolt flange was cat.

wrong.

its the "tip" of the catback exhaust, that part bolts up to the main cat and the other side slides into the muffler/resonater and is held in place with a U Clamp.

if it was a test pipe it would be longer, have a flange on both sides, wouldent have a hanger in that location and would have a bend to it.

He probably didnt use it cause trubendz fits like crap and it pushes the exhaust everywhere.
