I have a 98 contour. IT recently started idling rough at idle only. IT runs great at any RPM but idle. IT idles at 750 rpm and then falls to 500rpm and sorta kicks then goes back to normal. It does this very frequently just after the engine warms up. When its cold it idles normally and no bumpy idle.
I replaced the camshaft position sensor since i was getting SES P0340. The error came back again.
The car has 105,000km and its an inline 4 engine.
Please let me know what the most common problem is.
COuld it be a matter of a tune up?? sparks have been replaced at 72km, regular oil changes. In fact i recently switched to synthetic syntec oil. Other than that no other problems, just this idling part. The car still runs at any other speed and its very constant in terms of RPM.
