Hello all,

I'm putting this in general since the actual question will be general towards the tour and not in troubleshooting since I've already searched and I did find what I needed to the wonderful world of CEG.

Anways on to the story...

Awhile ago I noticed when I made a slight right or left hand turn that it sounded like a creaky row boat in the center of my steering weheel. I tried to tell if it was side specific but it really sounded like the center of the car. I could even duplicate it whenever the engine was hot or cold. Well after upon research on here that I was pointed to my power steering being overfilled.

The question is, did having it overfilled cause any permanent damage? I would hope not, but thanks for any help.

Ben

Which thread was it that mentioned overfilling causes the sound?

If your PS fluid is old, you may want to flush it and then "bleed" the air out by turning the steering wheel side to side. The cause of the sound is usually air in the PS system.

Could it be the power steering? Check if you have enough fluid (PS reservoir near passenger side). Maybe air in PS system. Bleed by turning steering from lock to lock a few times. Then try bleed procedure again after a few hours.
