can a leak at the heatercore hose just a small one cause the fans not to kick on . the reason i ask is because i have tried the t-stat and the switch on the fan shrow and both coolant temp sensors . the only way thay come on is with the air or heat turned on. its getting hot and dont want to run the air all the time it pulls alot of performance power from the car with it on all the time.any help is thanks in advance

Fix the leak (change the hose) and you will know. In any case, you have to fix the leak no matter what.

And did you test/change the resistor as suggested previously?

ok its not a leak just where the water runs out of the pipe when the air is on.yes i replaced the resistor for the fans the other day and still nothing. how many volt or ohms should i get from that plug that goes to the resistor might start to unravel the wires to see if its a short.i had the fans run to a switch for a while but the wires started getting hot with 12 gauge wire so now im going to have to get it fixed.
