Go to www.partsexpress.com and buy yourself a harness that plugs into the existing factory wiring harness. It will cost you about $10-12. HTH Mike

K-mart, Walmart, Radio Shack, Crutchfield, pep-Boys, or just about any other auto parts chain will carry the wiring harness for the Contours. I ordered my Kenwood from Crutchfield and got it for free. That way if you ever get rid of the car you can pull your after-market head unit out and reinsert the stock one in about 5 minutes. ...and that price is about right, it should cost around $10.00 I'm not sure what year you have, but mine is a 99 SE without Premium Sound. If you have the Premium Sound package, It'll say on the speaker grills located on the doors. Hope that helps.

I have premium sound, but my grills don't say it. According to Crutchfield, if the grills say "Stereo" on them, they are "Premium " Sound. The best way to check is to look behind your glove box (push the 2 "ears" back and open it all the way) and see if the Amplifier is there. It is in the upper right hand corner behind the glove box. Since I bought my HU from Crutchfield, they sent me the harness adaptor and amplifier bypass free.

the crutchfield amybypass and hu wiring harness worked awesome. i just did it. i cut the wiring in my 95 gl to put in a hu and regretted it. wish i had been patient and gotten a wiring harness.
...and yes, I did SEARCH first before asking.
