Finally got my trubendz and high-flow cat put on. the mechanic told me that it was not permanent because the muffler didnt fit in its spot with the straight pipe so he told me id need to get a pipe bent before it was permanent.

He said it would be fine for the mean time while i found a place to get it bent.

Id like to know if this rattling will cause any damage.. its caused from the muffler being about a cm from its 'indentation spot' and when any gas is applied or movement begins, it taps against the side and rattles. it seems to have been getting a little worse but it could easily be my imagination.

the mechanic also took off the heat shield above the muffler and said it would be completely fine and everything covered by it previously is metal and 'safe'

does this guy know what hes talking about or should i have it fixed asap? im trying to drive lightly until i find out.
thanks in advance

Why would he remove the heatshield? it protects the shift linkage and parking brake lines..

You should be fine with the rattling, are you gonna get it akll welded together?

he removed the heat shield to make a little more room for the muffler, which was already rubbing on it. to be honest i dont think this guy 100% knew what he was doing... the tips are not even and he didnt use the test-type pipe that came with the setup.(used his own pipe)
im kind of planning to go to a different exhaust shop and see how much it'll cost me to get it fixed.

as long as the muffler 'tapping' the edge of its indentation isnt damaging it, im not worried.
