I tried to change the rear brake pads but ran into a major roadblock. I was not able to push in the caliper pistons, tried both sides. After buying a special "push", tool and having no success with it, I went to a different parts store. I then found out that you need to "screw" in the piston instead of pushing it in. I went and bought a metal cube attachment that you put on a ratchet with extension. (is this correct tool?) I kept screwing it in but it only went in less then a 1/4 of a centimeter, if that. I tried calling Ford and they said that I need a special tool that enables you to turn and push at the same time? Has anybody had the same problem? I would appreciate any help. It was simple to remove the old pads and put new ones in but I cannot make the piston move to enable the caliper to fit over the pads. Is there a trick to this? Doe I need to turn and push same time or align the piston to a certain spot before push?? Help please!!

Hopefully you didn't damage the threads when you tried to push the piston in the first time. Should just turn in real easy.

I hope I didn't. It turns but it seems to be in as far as it goes but there is still not enough space to fit over the pads. I'm stumped. Are you only supposed to turn it or do you have to push it too after?
