hi, i have a 1995 contour LX zetec, i was looking to buy a spoiler, and wondering what dimensions it should be. i was looking at this spoiler off of ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Spoiler-for-a-Ford-Contour_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33638QQitemZ8066845609QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

it looks shifty though, see how it fits 94, 95, and 96 contours? they didnt make the contour in 94 right? and do i have to drill holes in my trunk?

thanks!

That spoiler is the "lip spoiler" that could be found on pre 98 Ford Contours. It will defenitly fit your Contour, but it does require drilling four holes 1/4 inch in diameter if I remeber correctly.

As for the Contour model years. I believe some people of Contours made in 94 because production began in late 94, but the first model year was the '95 Contour.

Good luck with the spoiler and happy bidding!

Jeff

By the way... welcome to CEG. This is the most helpful car forum I have ever seen. Take full advantage of it! what about this one? does it require drilling? it doesnt say anything about screws and nuts. and is there any difference between these 2 spoilers? the white one looks kinda thinner, but maybe its just me, is there any difference?

Yes, all spoilers should require some sort of drilling into the trunk. I can't think of any other method of safely and securely attacthing a spoiler.

Anyways, yes that is the same spoiler. I know what you mean about it looking thinner, but it is the exact same one. This one may not of the nuts included.

i used 3m double sided tape for ding guard's and etc on my lip spoiler and I don't think I could remove it even if I wanted to.. Stuff is strong. I cut the bolts off on mine, i wasn't drilling holes in my trunk.

Sounds like a good idea to me. That stuff is suprisingly strong. It wouldn't really work on to many other spoilers though, but it would work great on the lip spoiler! Thanks for posting your great idea.
