I just discovered my compressor had a large leak in the seam where its case joins together. I had to use soap bubbles (water and dish soap) to exactly locate what the electronic leak detector found. It's worth looking there if you have an A/C leak and are stumped. A rebuilt Motorcraft compressor seems to have fixed my A/C so far .

All of mine have been around the crimps in the Goodyear hoses. Both cars had this problem since they were 3 or so years old. A/C stopleak stopped the problem and I added a can of oil charge since the stain is oil. so far the temps here have been real nice. Mostly in the high 70s in the day with low humidity. last week at this time it was in the mid 90s!
