Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone else turns off accessories before turning off the engine?
I know I make sure all things are off except the radio, but all HVAC, lights, and any other settings are off before starting the engine.
I do it by force of habit to make sure only the engine and the radio are turning on before anything else, but just wondering what other folks do.
Best fun,
Ben

I turn off everything before I shut the car off - including the radio. I prolly don't have to, but it's just something I do.

I have noticed that many, if not all, modern cars will shut down accessories when the key is turned to the 'start' position. My tilting radio face resets as evidence of this, & the AC fan stops blowing when the engine is being cranked.
Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

Ditto.
But I do turn my HID's off before i kill the motor because its not healthy for the ballasts to run off of only battery, they need something more stable. I also kill my fogs, but thats because they are hardwired and will stay on no matter what. Radio, hvac all that other crap can stay on all it wants, the car will kill it before the motor cranks

I turn everything off and still give a little gas before the off position.
Force of habit I guess.

I turn everything off. In fact, I'm so anal that I turn the A/C off about 30 sec. before even stopping the car When we were kids, we used to turn ON all the accessories before Mom started the car

I agree. I turn off the HVAC for a couple of seconds then I turn off the engine as you stated.
And everyone knows that you just roll the window up and down every second just because you can.
