I recently put a aftermarket water temp gauge on my 98 SVT and now my fans wont come on. It wont turn on with the A/C on either. Has anyone had this problem before? Any ideas on what I should do to fix it? Thank you

Coulda blew a fuse or didn't hook the temp guage up right, I'd check fuses and double check the connections.

I've been messing with it and both fans come on when I unplugged the coolant temp sensor. Any more ideas on what the problem could be? Thanx

Hey thanks tony I read that thread a couple of times, I've actually read alot of the threads FavoriteMystaque has put his input into. All the tests he's suggested I've done and everything comes out like he says it should, I just cant figure out what needs fixed or replaced.

Put it back the way it was. If the fans start working again, you know there's something wrong with the aftermarket guage or how it was hooked up. Is there something wrong with your stock guage? Even though they may not be all that accurate, they're close enough for govermment work. Plus they match the rest of the instrument panel.

Yeah I thought about doing that but then I've got $50 down the drain for the gauge, I'm going to try a few more things then if I cant get it to work I'm going to remove the aftermarket gauge and see if it fixes it.
