No, he meant a KKM or similar air filter... it comes with the MAF adapter which allows you to install a conical air filter as opposed to screwing on the airbox. Also, do the TPS mod for more improved throttle response. Look in this forum... there is a thread going right now.

the link you posted has a bum link in it -

23. Put the MILs on the lower O2 sensors. not needed for 2001+ vehicles. This site explains how to build MIL Eliminators for Ford vehicles. If the capacitor and resistor you buy do not look the same as thoses in the pictures on this site, don't worry about it as long as the ratings are the same.

the link in that paragraph points to http://www.eaton-design.com/mustang/mil/
which gives me a 404 error - so does anyone else know how to build a MIL eliminator?

p.s. what the hell is a MIL eliminator?

M.I.L. = Malfunction Indicator Light = Check Engine Light

The MIL eliminators are(basically speaking) a bundle of resistors and wire that plug between your O2 sensors and wiring harness to tell the PCM that the sensors/cats are working correctly.

When you gut the cats the O2 sensors wouldn't read correctyly(if I understand it)so the PCM triggers a check engine light(MIL).

If you are chipped, do you still need to run the MIL's. My CEL is on all the time but the car runs awesome. I think the CEL is from the chip. But back to the orig question. Do you need to run MIL's if you have a chip.

Yes.

The CEL comes on because the second series of O2 sensors does not read a change in A/F compared to the first series and throws a Cat Efficiency Code.

A chip will not affect this in any way.
